Wow. Taylor has officially escaped her dark, thigh-high black boot era of Reputation and has emerged into a French romance wonderland, full of pastels, rainbows, and unicorn heads. Oh, and her fabulous cat.

With snippets of teasers for her new album, Taylor has kept fans on their toes, as they patiently, maybe not-so-patiently, wait for the arrival of her new album. At midnight, she released “Me!” which I personally loved jamming to as I crammed for my English essay due to its easy-flowing lyrics and romantic gestures.

“Me!” carries a drastically-different theme compared to her previous songs of her Reputation album, such as “Look What You Made Me Do” and “I Did Something Bad,” but in the best of ways. The music video is so incredibly beautiful, but, at the same time, it involves such a fun atmosphere. I mean, colorful pantsuits? I’ve never wanted to be Taylor’s best friend more than I do right now. And although this song brings out a new side to Taylor, the random one-liner, “Spelling is fun” graciously reminded me of “the old Taylor can’t come to the phone right now” phrase that no one saw coming but absolutely adored.

As we all await her pastel-themed album, may we all kick back and jam to this authentic, fun-loving song from Taylor and the wonderful Brendon Urie.
